I am committed to helping empower Baby Boomers to create financial security and to life their life by design. That should not be too difficult, with lots of resources to tap.  When retirement just didn't take for me, I found a way to be engaged and productive, and to help others do the same.  Let's visit some background info first.

Baby Boomers, defined generally as those born between 1946 and 1964, are a huge cohort, and have some unique problems and opportunities.  They (we!) represent almost 75 million of the US population, or approximately 20% overall, and are surpassed only recently by the Millenials age group.  Many of us have reached retirement age, and are unprepared–both financially and socially.

The year 2008 and surrounding and following it took a toll.  Many were forced out of their jobs, housing prices fell and retirement plans lost thousands of dollars of value.  Lots of people have not yet fully recovered, and may never recover without radically changing their plans.  Do you want to re-create yourself in 2017?  I have done it several times already, so I know it CAN be done.

People over 50 can have a second career, and/or they can  implement a long-repressed dream into a personal business. But, you have to have a plan, and you have to take the first step.  I understand if you are risk-averse, since lots of us grew up that way!  However, taking calculated risks can help us overcome financial difficulties, as well as help us be productive seniors, and leaders in our fields.

If you are still working in a job, you are probably not going to retire when you had originally planned.  According to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 1985 only 10.8 percent of the population age 65 or older was still working. In 2013, it was 18.7 percent. And in 2016, it was 20 percent. In fact, there are about 1.5 million unemployed Baby Boomers who still can’t find work and would jump at a chance to take your place,

BUT, you have a choice, whether you are still working or are looking for work!  You can create your own business–perhaps around something you have a passion for, or have dreamed of doing for years.

Take just a couple of minutes to review this video I made recently with you in mind.
